SUMMER GIVEAWAY: Bathurst Community Op Shop’s Lavina Ross and Kathy McDiarmid with some of the giveaway items.
Bathurst Community Op Shop’s co-ordinators say the store is over-stocked with summer clothing, and there is not enough room to stock adequate warm winter clothes.
Councillor Bobby Bourke who operates the store said last year’s inaugural summer clothing giveaway was a huge success.
“Bags and bags went out the door [last year], it was really popular,” he said.
Cr Bourke said the giveaway will be open to everyone and he encouraged those who need a helping hand to come along.
“I just hope those people who like to get something for free come along,” he said.
Men’s, women’s and children’s summer clothing will be included in the one-day sale.
Bags and bags went out the door [last year], it was really popular.
“Kids grow up quickly and there will be a lot of kids clothes,” Cr Bourke said.
“There’s racks and racks of summer clothing on the tables and because it’s coming into winter I’d rather give it away.”
Bathurst Community Op Shop is located at 8 Lions Club Drive in Kelso.
The giveaway is on this Friday, March 10 only from 10am until 2pm.
