LAGOS—A new video from AJ+ highlights the reemergence of traditional Nigerian clothing like the agbada amongst the country’s youth.
Young men across the country are choosing to rock the long, airy pull-overs as a way to show pride in where they’re from, says Omobolaji Ademosu, a banker turned tailor, whose designs are all the rave in Lagos.
The video also touches on the history of the agbada and addresses the current economic recession that has caused many Nigerians to look to local tailors for their clothes.
Supporting local businesses is always a good look, and so is rocking traditional clothing.
