Do not accept gifts from unknown persons, says Nannapaneni
Chairperson of the Andhra Pradesh Women’s Commission Nannapaneni Rajakumari on Friday advised girls to use electronic gadgets in a prudent manner and warned of lurking dangers which could spoil their life.
Speaking at a two-day national seminar on ‘Women empowerment — media, cinema and theatre prospects and challenges’ at KBN College here, she advised girls to desist from taking gifts from unknown persons, leading unsavoury incidents affecting their character.
“Taking videos and pictures to harm them has become a way of life. Girls should be cautions,” she warned.
Ms. Rajakumari asked girl students not to misuse their freedom “Women are in the forefront in every aspect, but they got to be cautious while searching for their identity in a male-dominated society,” she said.
She remembered several women leaders such as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, former Sri Lankan President Sirimavo Bandaranaike, Pakistan former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and Union Minister Sushma Swaraj and others for their accomplishments.“Women are facing problems both from family and society even in well-civilised countries. Women are working along with men and assaults on them are increasing” she felt.
Ms. Rajakumari advised girls to take the good things from cinemas and TV serials which would help in their development. “Students should concentrate on education. They should set goals and work hard to achieve them,” she suggested.
Veteran actor Vanisree said that ups and downs were common in everyone’s life, but one should not lose the focus. “Everyone should try to achieve some recognition in society”.
She shared her film industry life and advised students to adopt one or two economically backward students and help them to settle in their life.
