Daydream by name, daydream by nature, meet the brand Les Rêveries.
As sweet as it is flirty, this New York label was established by sisters Wayne and Ai and reflects their love for not only style, but also art, poetry, and music.
Expect super feminine floral dresses (it’s a signature of theirs) in full length and playful above the knee hemlines, as well as pantsuits in velvet for when you want to make a bold statement. They’re on our want list for fall ’19.
Felicity Carter: What was your first memory of fashion?
Wayne Lee: I was 7 years old and I would draw pictures of dresses I’d want to wear.
FC: When did you first fall in love with fashion?
WL: I had always been in love with clothes from my first memories, admiring my mother and my aunts in their outfits.
FC: Tell us about Les Rêveries….
WL: Les Rêveries launched last February. My sister and I were desperately searching for going out day to night dresses for these destination get-a-aways.
FC: How would you sum up the aesthetic of your brand and does it resonate with your style?
WL: Les Rêveries in French translates into daydreams. To sum it up in a few words: elegant, romantic, flirty, fun and free-spirited, no fuss, timeless and effortless.
FC: Who is your customer?
WL: She’s independent, driven, fashion forward and knows what suits her.
FC: Who or what has had the biggest impact on the line?
WL: Customers first combined with our vision for the brand. We want to make something that works for our customers ultimately.
FC: What are the immediate goals for your brand?
WL: We want to stay focus for now with what we do best and then try to branch out to make it more a lifestyle brand in the near future.
FC: What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned when it comes to the industry?
WL: Staying grounded and not taking on more than you can handle.
