East Anglia's Children's Hospices auctioned off some of Ed Sheeran's clothes to raise money for the charity.

Over 100 clothing items, including a suit he performed in alongside Elton John, were sold on eBay earlier this month for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).

The Suffolk singer has been an EACH ambassador since 2014 and has donated hundreds of clothes and instruments to raise thousands of the pounds for the charity.

Jason High, eBay manager at EACH, said: “We’re really happy with the funds generated by Ed’s clothing.

“Our thanks to everyone who took part in the auction and also to Brandbank, which kindly took photos of each individual item, for free, for us to use on our eBay store.”

The top performing lot was a three-piece Ermenegildo Zegna suit Ed wore to Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in 2014, which sold for £520.

A Jack Wills hoody he had been pictured in next to Martin Garrix went for £245, a Duffer of St George t-shirt he wore to the BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards in 2011 made £240 and an orange hoody with the words Justice for Gingers emblazoned across the front fetched £215.

A Burberry suit jacket Ed wore to the 2013 Grammy Awards when he performed alongside Elton John was snapped up for £175. In total, the online lots raised £7,935.

Meanwhile, a small selection of clothing was kept for a silent auction at EACH’s shop in Framlingham close to Ed’s family home. Top bids totalled £125 and the winners are being contacted today.

This most recent set of clothing was dropped off at EACH’s Ipswich fundraising office by his mum Imogen.

Mr High added: “Our supporters shouldn’t forget that we still have nearly 100 other items, from books and clothing to electricals and home decorations, listed on our eBay store.

“There are always new lots appearing so it’s well worth keeping an eye on.”

The clothing auction comes just weeks after the sale of Ed’s teenage drum kit, which made £2,650 for the charity.

EACH supports families and cares for children and young people with life-threatening conditions in Suffolk, Essex, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire.

The charity relies on voluntary donations for the majority of their income, and each year it must raise more than £5 million from fundraising and £2.5 million from shops.
