The district-level Dasara sports meet was inaugurated by Pramod Madhwaraj, Minister of State for Fisheries, Youth Empowerment and Sports, here on Sunday.
Roshan Kumar Shetty, Assistant Director of Sports and Youth Empowerment said that the sports meet was open for all, from 12 to 70. A Handball match was held at Kadiyali School Grounds here on Sunday, while the Kho-Kho game was held at Board School Grounds in Brahmavar. Table tennis, badminton, throwball, Kabbadi and volleyball matches and athletics events were held at the District Stadium here. The hockey matches would be held at Nitte on August 31.
